The effects of six months administration of low dose growth hormone on insulin sensitivity, post-load glucose tolerance and cardiovascular disease risk markers in subjects with impaired glucose tolerance.
Inclusion Criteria
- Age 30-69 years
- IGT demonstrated in the last 5 years and re-confirmed at baseline visit
- One additional CVD marker
Exclusion criteria
- Type 2 Diabetes or normal glucose tolerance
- Untreated thyroid disease
- Current or previous malignancy
- Pregnancy
- Liver disease
- Suspected or known drug abuse
- Suspected or known alcohol abuse
- Emotional or social instability likely to prejudice study completion
- Chronic condition other than that being studied that may pose risk to subject or interfere with study objectives
